Sad Demise of Mr. Antony Francis
May 4, 2010: Nanthancode Junction: Mr. Antony Francis (58), Retd. KSRTC Employee, of Watt's Lane, House No: 56, Nanthancode passed away after an altercation between his fellow Indian National Congress member, Mr. J.R. Vijayn because of some intragroup conflicts. The incident took place in front of Mr. Preman's plumbing shop at night between 9-10 pm. Mr. Francis and one of his friend Mr. Bernabass were standing in front of the plumbing shop when J.R. Vijayan approached them and had some chat regarding the congress membership book and which later turned into an altercation between them and J.R. Vijayan assaulted Mr. Antony Francis and he got some major blows in his body and fell down. Later local people and Mr. Satheesh Antony, son of Mr. Francis, took Mr. Francis to the nearby hospital, Jubilee Hospital, but he succumbed to death. Police filed a criminal case against Mr. J.R. Vijayan who is absconding since the incident.
